How do I remove MSN Messenger from Windows XP
If you are looking to remove MSN Messenger from your Windows XP machine, chances are you can't find it in the Add/Remove programs within the Control Panel. One way to uninstall it is to run a command from the Start | Run.
Warning: This will completely remove MSN Messenger from your computer and will not prompt you. MSNemotions.org is not responsible for any problems this may cause with your computer. Use at your own risk.
The command you need to run is the following:
- RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
Note: Make sure MSN Messenger is not running when you run this command as some files will be in use and you will most likely experience some error messages which could prevent MSN Messenger from being removed properly.
